Job summary

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch is seeking a Custodian to join our Facilities Management team. The role involves cleaning duties, restocking supplies, equipment upkeep, and assisting with basic maintenance in assigned facilities. Shift work, possible on-call, overtime and weekend hours are required.

Minimum qualifications: less than high school; no prior experience required. Preferred: high school diploma or GED, ability to read and follow safety procedures, 1–2 years custodial

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement is less than high school; substitution allowed with higher degrees.
• Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, safety training, and 1–2 years custodial experience.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Perform routine custodial equipment maintenance and waste disposal.
• Unlocking/locking doors and reporting needs to appropriate staff.
• Assist in on-the-job training and seasonal/project-based cleaning.
• Provide access to vendors as needed and report issues to supervisor.
