Job summary

The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking a full-time Custodian in the Administration Department. Duties include routine custodial tasks to keep facilities clean, safe, and presentable.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 12 pm–9 pm, with opportunities for after-hours work as needed. Qualified applicants will have at least a high school diploma or GED and 2 years in custodial work, plus a valid Utah driver's license.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two (2) years' experience in custodial fields, building maintenance, or related field.
• Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License.

Job Description

The City of Saratoga Springs currently has an opening for a Custodian. This is a full‑time position with the Saratoga Springs Administration Department of approximately 40 hours per week. This position performs routine custodial duties to ensure that facilities are clean, safe, attractive, and secure. Works under the specific direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and the general direction of the Office & Facilities Administrator. All employees are also under the general supervision of the City Manager.Monday - Friday: 12 pm to 9 pm

Job Responsibilities

• Performs custodial and cleaning services such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash containers, dusting furniture, walls, machines, and equipment, cleaning interior windows, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and break rooms, polishing fixtures, and filling dispensers.
• May be required to work outside of regular business hours as needed and may be required for emergency cleanup and repairs or scheduled maintenance work.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Two (2) years' of experience working in custodial fields, building maintenance, or a related field

Certifications Required

• Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range:

Minimum - $18.70hr.

Midpoint - $22.44/hr.

Maximum - $26.17/hr.

The City participates in the Utah Public Retirement System (pension). In addition, the City does not participate in Social Security, so no Social Security taxes are deducted from your paycheck. In lieu of the City's Social Security contributions, the City contributes 6.2% of salary into a 401(k) retirement plan.

Leave time benefits include 120 hours of paid time off (PTO) accrued annually, 40 hours of short-term medical accrued annually, and 11 holidays annually.
