Job summary

Palacios Marine & Industrial Coatings, Inc. is seeking a reliable Custodian to keep our facilities in Port Lavaca, Texas clean and well-maintained.

Duties include sweeping, mopping, restroom sanitation, trash removal, dusting, window cleaning and basic maintenance. The job requires operating cleaning equipment, following safety protocols, working independently, meeting schedules, and communicating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment, and safe chemical handling.
• Attention to detail to spot and clean messes
• Strong communication with supervisors and team members
• Reliable and punctual to open/close facilities and complete tasks on schedule
• Safety-consciousness including PPE usage
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends
• Custodial experience is a plus
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to pass drug tests, site-specific exams, and background checks

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop floors and clean restrooms.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Dust and polish furniture; clean windows and mirrors.
• Operate vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and pressure washers.
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Follow schedules and respond to urgent cleaning requests.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members clearly.
