Job summary

Town of Lexington seeks a Custodian to support the Department of Public Facilities. The role focuses on keeping buildings and surroundings clean, safe, and well-maintained. Shifts include long 10-hour days, with responsibilities across floors, restrooms, windows, and common areas.

You will manage supplies, report repairs, and assist with maintenance as required. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, and CORI/pre-placement screening.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of modern cleaning methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of buildings and premises, including floors, restrooms and fixtures.
• Ensure exits are opened at start of day and report repairs or vandalism.
• Replace light bulbs and manage supplies; operate and maintain equipment.
• Remain on-site during shifts and assist maintenance staff as needed.
