Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains distribution/crossdock areas to company cleanliness standards with minimal supervision.
• Operates power equipment: walk-behind scrubbers, scrubber/polisher, vacuums, and pressure washer.
• Performs outside maintenance, including grounds work, as needed.
• Notifies leadership about major repairs to building systems or equipment.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies (towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.).
• Cleans common areas like kitchens, breakrooms, surfaces, and displays.
• Rotates through departments to meet business demands.
• Participates in training on technology upgrades and new systems.
• Completes tasks as assigned by leadership to meet productivity and quality goals.

The Facilities Custodian is a vital member of our team who ensures that our facility is maintained to the highest cleanliness standards. You will be facilitating the day-to-day upkeep of our distribution center to ensure a safe and clean environment for all associates so that our operations run smoothly. A day in the life as a Facilities Custodian...

• Ensures the Distribution/Crossdock operations areas are maintained to company cleanliness standards with minimal supervision
• Uses Power equipment which consists of walk-behind scrubbers, power scrubber/polisher, Wet/Dry vacuum cleaners, portable as well as stationary power pressure washer
• Performs outside maintenance, including grounds work, as needed
• Ensures equipment is cleaned and stored properly following use
• Notifies appropriate personnel concerning the need for major repairs to building operating systems or equipment
• Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
• Empties wastebaskets and trash/recycling bins in the kitchen and office areas and transports waste to the disposal area
• Replenishes bathroom supplies such as; paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer, air freshener, etc.
• Maintains the cleanliness of common areas including the kitchen and breakroom areas by cleaning, wiping, or polishing the following areas and others as needed: refrigerators, microwaves, toaster ovens, glass windows, cabinets, countertops, glass windows, doors, mirrors, displays, and hanging pictures
• Rotates through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business
• Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
• Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals

What you'll bring to the table...

• Ability to use Power equipment such as walk-behind scrubbers, power scrubber/polisher, Wet/Dry vacuum cleaners, portable as well as stationary power pressure washer
• Work is physically demanding requiring concentration, visual and auditory acuity, muscle coordination, attention to detail, and constant awareness of work surrounding, walking, standing, climbing stairs
• Ability to perform multiple tasks that require repetitive motion
• Remains knowledgeable of janitorial supplies and chemicals, including hazardous materials
• Possess a complete understanding of training and communication resources relevant to the position
• Maintains an awareness of loss prevention, security and safety following the guidelines as outlined in the Company Code of Conduct and Associate Policy manuals
• Basic English Language proficiency preferred
