Job Description
The Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) improves the stability, health, and wellness of those we serve through advocacy, acculturation, community development and cultural preservation.
The Chaldean Community Foundation is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join its West Bloomfield office, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Facilities Coordinator will oversee all building-related activities and will be responsible for preserving the condition of the infrastructure and ensuring that the facility is safe, functioning and aesthetically maintained.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
• Manage the upkeep of building equipment and supplies to meet all health and safety standards.
• Inspect building’s structures to determine the need for repairs, renovations, and updates.
• Manage and maintain the building’s security and alarm system, recommending updates as needed.
• Plan and coordinate all installations (IT/telecommunications, heating and cooling, electricity, alarms, etc.) and refurbishments.
• Schedule and oversee building inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with safety codes, regulations, and organizational standards.
• Meet and negotiate with contractors to strive for quality and efficiency for all repairs, updates, construction, etc.
• Monitor and manage functional and external activities such as utility related structures, parking structure, parking space allocations, waste disposal, building security, etc.
• Manage warranty plans and contracts, including financial and non-financial records pertaining to building and building maintenance.
• Provide front lobby staff with coverage for assigned lunch period or as needed.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all employees, clients, and visitors during regular business hours through effective access control, monitoring, emergency preparedness, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor guests and client traffic during programming and events.
• Ability to manage conflict and de-escalate agitated situations.
• Walk the perimeter of the facility daily, inside, and outside and dispose of all trash.
• Stock and maintain the cantina daily and facilitate the ordering of items.
• Replenish water, coffee, utensils, etc. in each kitchen daily.
• Assist with setup and tear down during events, meetings, and various off-site functions.
• Assist with food orders, preparation, serving, and cleaning.
• Available to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Competencies
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Good analytical/critical thinking.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in facility management or engineering required.
• 5+ years proven experience in facilities management or relevant position.
• 3+ years in facilities project management.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• CPR and AED training preferred.
• Fluency in Arabic and/or Chaldean preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout the facility.
• Regular bending and reaching may be required.
• Ability to lift or carry items up to 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
• Occasionally work in outside weather conditions which may include exposure to seasonal weather such as extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
