LabCentral is hiring a Facilities Coordinator to join our team in Cambridge. This role reports to the Associate Director, Facilities. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive experience in customer service and facilities maintenance, including work as a facilities coordinator or in related trades, and is self-directed with a hands-on approach to solving problems while delivering outstanding service to our resident companies.
What will I do?
Responsibilities:
- Ensure building systems and infrastructure operate as designed and residents have what they need to be successful; keep the Facilities Team organized in priorities.
- Coordinate facility infrastructure and amenities across multiple sites, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, janitorial services, security, and shipping & receiving.
- Conduct proactive routine walkthroughs, log issues, and delegate resolution.
- Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance (patching/painting, plumbing, lightbulbs, door hardware, shelving, package receiving).
- Oversee contractors and service providers onsite, maintaining relationships and ensuring work is safe, on time, and to LabCentral standards.
- Respond to urgent issues and occasionally support scheduled work outside regular hours (evenings or weekends).
- Assist the department head with tracking and developing the facilities team budget.
- Uphold LabCentral’s standard of excellence for services, facility upkeep, and aesthetics.
Supporting the Facilities Team:
- Support and coordinate day-to-day work of teammates and vendors; provide direction when needed.
- Prepare agendas for and facilitate department meetings to overcome challenges, alleviate bottlenecks, prioritize work, develop skills, and share feedback.
- Serve as the daily facilities point of contact and provide back-up support for tasks of other team members.
- Own the work order intake and triage process in CMMS and asset management system; assign tasks, track completion, and report trends.
Fostering Relationships
- Monitor metrics such as site net promoter score and manager performance; take ownership of operations and guide team efficiency.
- Maintain operational continuity through proactive maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
What do I bring?
Desired qualifications and technical skills:
- Experience with property management.
- Ability to perform hands-on facilities tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing a ladder, using hand and power tools).
- Basic understanding of building infrastructure, construction methods/materials, and safe practices.
- Proficiency with Mac/PC and Microsoft Office; familiarity with IT systems.
- Experience managing CMMS and asset management systems.
- Experience overseeing janitorial staff or trades contractors is a plus.
- Spanish and/or other languages a plus.
- Onsite role in Cambridge, MA with occasional off-hours (weekends) as needed.

Work environment:
- Fully onsite during regular business hours; start time may vary between 7:00 am and 9:00 am based on operational need.
- Ability to sit/stand for long periods; move around an office and lab environment; communicate clearly.
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

Compensation
Salary range: $57k-75k with potential to earn an 8-10% bonus based on company performance. Approximate monetary value of benefits: $24,000.
