Job summary

Columbia Forest Products is seeking a skilled carpenter for renovation, remodeling, and construction across our manufacturing and administrative sites in Oregon. You will build and modify walls, ceilings, doors, and spaces, with basic plumbing and blueprint reading responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of carpentry experience in commercial or industrial renovations, strong tool skills, and a valid driver’s license. Teamwork and safety are essential to success.

  • 3–5 years carpentry experience in commercial/industrial renovations.
  • Basic plumbing experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform renovation, remodeling, and construction projects throughout manufacturing and administrative facilities.
  • Build, install, repair, paint and modify walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, cabinetry, and partitions.
  • Construct offices, conference rooms, break areas, storage rooms, and production support spaces.
  • Basic plumbing including toilet and sink installation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Install drywall, insulation, trim, molding, doors, windows, and hardware.
  • Demolition work related to renovation projects while adhering to safety requirements.
  • Coordinate renovation activities with production departments to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and construction equipment safely.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable building codes.
  • Estimate material requirements and maintain inventory of construction supplies and tools.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.

This position operates within a manufacturing facility containing active production equipment, forklift traffic, varying temperatures, and construction-related hazards. Required PPE must be worn at all times.
