Job summary

Gulfshoresal is seeking an on-site janitorial worker to maintain cleanliness, safety, and order in City facilities. You will perform floor care, restroom cleaning, waste disposal, window/dust cleaning, and room setup for meetings, under supervision of the Facility Maintenance Director and Supervisor.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, inspecting facilities for hazards, and assisting in training junior staff. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work as part of a team is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning methods for floors, walls and fixtures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, scrub, wax floors and clean restrooms.
• Vacuum carpets and clean rugs.
• Clean windows, walls, blinds; wash and dust.
• Empty waste receptacles and clean.
• Move or rearrange furniture as needed.
• Set up rooms for meetings.
• Answer questions from the public and City staff.
• Inspect for safety hazards and report to supervisor.
• Operate cleaning equipment and maintain supplies.
• Assist in training less experienced staff.
