Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable cleaner to join our facilities team in San Antonio, performing daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep buildings safe and presentable.

Responsibilities include floor care, dusting, restroom sanitation, waste removal, and following safety and quality standards. A high school diploma and previous custodial experience are preferred; ability to work independently is important. ABM offers equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or general cleaning roles is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Dusts furniture, walls, light fixtures.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
• Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment
• Gathers and empties trash
• Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms
• Cleans glass doors
• Must keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
• Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned
