Description

The Adirondack Experience (ADKX) in Blue Mountain Lake is one of upstate New York’s major cultural institutions and is nestled right in the heart of the Adirondacks. Offering four seasons of outdoor recreation, surrounded by serene landscape, and cozy small towns, the ADKX offers something for everyone who enjoys the serenity of the Adirondack Park. The ADKX is a seasonal museum open from Memorial Day weekend through Indigenous People’s Day.

The Adirondack Experience is looking for a motivated individual to help maintain the cleanliness of our exquisite campus and exhibitions as a seasonal, part-time Facilities Cleaning Assistant. This position plays a pivotal role at our organization, as the Facilities Cleaning Assistant is responsible for cleaning exhibits, buildings and campus. This includes but not limited to all of the museum’s exhibits, collection storage facility, restroom areas, office buildings, retail operations, café operations, residences, grounds and parking lots. Hours are typically 9am – 5:30pm.Weekend work may be required. The starting rate of pay is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Cleaning and upkeep of all buildings and exhibits.
• Gather trash and empty into main containers to be picked up by trash collectors.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• Greet and assist visitors to restrooms, meals, snacks, telephones, first aid, as needed.
• Assure the safety of artifacts, exhibits, buildings and grounds.

Our ideal candidates will:

• Have a friendly, responsible, dependable, positive attitude and attentive demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as climb, bend, and move heavy equipment.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Be able to work independently but also part of a team.
• Be able to lift 40lbs.
