Job summary

MassMutual is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our facilities management team on the Springfield, MA campus. You will handle maintenance, renovation, and construction tasks, interpreting blueprints and coordinating with managers and contractors to ensure safe and compliant work.

The role emphasizes strong carpentry skills, attention to safety, and effective communication using business tools, with onsite hours Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of carpentry experience, preferably within commercial property maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work including installation, repair, and maintenance of structural components, cabinetry, fixtures, doors, windows, flooring and other assets.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings and project specifications to deliver high-quality results.
• Support renovation, maintenance and construction projects by measuring, cutting, assembling and installing materials.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to identify wear and repair needs.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and facilities professionals to ensure safety, efficiency and to specification.
• Maintain accurate records, communicate project progress, and contribute to a well-organized work environment.
• Uphold OSHA standards and applicable building codes while promoting safety and compliance.
• Respond to urgent facility needs and support emergency repairs as needed.
