Job summary

National Geographic Society is seeking a Coordinator for the Campus and Experiences division at Base Camp in Washington, DC. You will support the VP of Facilities and Capital Planning, organize files and contracts, and help align internal and external teams to keep projects moving.

A 2+ year administrative/operations background and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace are preferred. This on-site role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Communications, Hospitality, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar support role.
  • Effective written and oral communications skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, especially presentation tools.
  • Experience preparing reports and managing schedules with business tools.
  • Ability to handle fast-paced, multi-phase projects with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the VP’s back-of-house 'traffic controller' for miscellaneous tasks and small facility initiatives; track progress and deadlines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communications and secure deliverables from internal teams and external contractors.
  • Prepare agendas, issue RFPs, review proposals, and maintain contract logs and change requests.
  • Manage the VP’s calendar and support team-wide information maintenance and dashboards.
