Position Summary

The Facilities & Campus Operations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the safety, appearance, functionality, and day-to-day operations of a 55-acre campus consisting of five buildings and surrounding grounds. This position includes both exterior campus maintenance and interior facility responsibilities.

Because this position serves within a church and ministry environment, the Facilities & Campus Operations Coordinator also works closely with church members, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers. The employee will help coordinate volunteer work projects, provide direction and support to volunteers, and ensure projects are completed safely and effectively.

This is a hands-on position requiring someone who is dependable, organized, able to prioritize multiple needs, and willing to respond to the changing facility needs of a large and active campus.

Campus & Grounds Maintenance
  • Maintain approximately 55 acres of campus property, including five buildings, parking areas, sidewalks, outdoor spaces, and other campus facilities.
  • Regularly inspect the property and identify maintenance, repair, safety, and appearance concerns.
  • Perform or coordinate routine grounds maintenance, including landscaping, trimming, debris removal, seasonal cleanup, and general property upkeep.
  • Maintain sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, signage, fencing, outdoor lighting, and other exterior property features.
  • Assist with weather-related campus needs, including storm preparation and cleanup.
  • Maintain outdoor areas in a manner that provides a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for church members, students, employees, families, volunteers, and visitors.
Building & Interior Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout all five campus buildings.
  • Address basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, hardware, and general facility needs within the employee's level of training and experience.
  • Inspect classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, meeting spaces, worship areas, and other facilities for maintenance needs.
  • Replace light bulbs, filters, fixtures, hardware, and other routine maintenance items as necessary.
  • Assist with HVAC monitoring and communicate concerns requiring professional service.
  • Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage within maintenance and facility areas.
  • Assist with room setups, furniture movement, equipment placement, and facility preparation for church, school, ministry, and special events.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, maintenance supplies, and commonly used materials.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when repairs or services require specialized or licensed professionals.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly walk and inspect a 55-acre campus.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, and pull for extended periods.
  • Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance or appropriate equipment used for heavier items.
  • Safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, landscaping equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel between buildings and campus areas throughout the workday.
  • Perform physical work for extended periods while following appropriate safety practices.
QualificationsRequired:

Preferred:
  • Previous experience in facilities, property, grounds, construction, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience maintaining a large campus or multi-building property.
  • Experience working in a church, school, nonprofit, or ministry environment.
  • Experience coordinating volunteers or maintenance teams.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, and preventive maintenance.
  • Relevant trade certifications, licenses, or specialized training are a plus.
