Summary of the purpose of the job, why it exists, and its general functions and responsibilities.

Purpose: The purpose of the Facilities Associate (FA) is to assist the Building Foreman/Facilities Manager/Facilities Mechanic and Associates, who together comprise the Facilities Team (FT), in managing Christ Church facilities across all Campuses. The FA helps maintain a beautiful place of worship by supporting and performing maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, along with performing semi-skilled and skilled manual work in construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities.

MAJOR JOB COMPONENTS

General Functions & Responsibilities

• Assist the FT in ensuring that the Church facilities and affiliate locations are well-maintained.
• Follow project management guidelines to complete checklists on building equipment maintenance and maintain records of scheduled procedures.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and communicate with the FT.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as spackling, painting, replacing light bulbs/ballasts, vacuuming, garbage removal, disinfecting restrooms, and moving furniture.
• Assist in light landscaping work, including trimming bushes, weed control/removal, and leaf removal.
• Perform seasonal maintenance functions throughout the year.
• Set up and break down rooms for services and events.
• Assist in maintaining boilers, HVAC, alarm and sprinkler systems, pumps, electrical wires, and other equipment.
• The FA will be available for 2-3 Sundays per month, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, to ensure the facility is prepared for worship services.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull objects weighing 5-75 pounds alone, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.

Primary contacts include:

• Building Foreman and Facilities Team - collaboration on construction, repairs, and projects.
• Manager/Director of Facilities - for maintenance strategies and policies.
• Director of Operations/COO - for strategic alignment and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance and construction.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License with no violations.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of tools, materials, methods, safety precautions related to maintenance and repair.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work safely and take safety precautions.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass a boilers license exam.
