Job summary

Celldex Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Facility Associate to support New Jersey operations by maintaining equipment in a research facility, vivarium, and office space.

The role prioritizes workload around departmental schedules to complete preventative and routine maintenance. Responsibilities include rounds, equipment maintenance/repair, general facility upkeep, troubleshooting, documentation, and after-hours alarm coverage.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and wiring diagrams is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Follow SOPs and work both independently and in a team.
• Must be detail oriented and well organized.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work after hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform morning and evening daily rounds.
• Maintain and repair process equipment such as autoclaves, glass washers, HVAC, steam boiler, standby generators, purified water systems and temperature control units.
• General facility maintenance (carpentry, drywall, painting, ceiling tiles, office furniture).
• Troubleshoot and repair utility, process and mechanical equipment.
• Complete logbooks, equipment forms, and work orders with accurate documentation.
• Assist senior technicians.
• Operate Building Management System (BMS) and provide after-hours alarm coverage.
• Support shipping and receiving activities.
• Support waste management and gas deliveries.
• Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned.

Overview

Summary of Position:

The Facility associate supports Celldex’s New Jersey operations by performing maintenance on equipment within a general research facility. This facility consists of a research lab, vivarium and office space. The technician will prioritize the workload around departmental schedules in order to complete required preventative and routine maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform morning and evening daily rounds.
• Perform maintenance and/or repair on process equipment such as autoclaves, glass washers, HVAC, steam boiler, standby generators, purified water systems and temperature control units
• Perform general facility maintenance, i.e., basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, office furniture repair/installation
• Troubleshoot and repair utility, process and mechanical equipment
• Complete logbooks, equipment specific forms and work-orders consistently and accurately, while maintaining organized documentation files.
• Assist senior level technicians.
• Operate Building Management System (BMS) and provide after hours call-back for alarm coverage
• Support shipping and receiving activities
• Support waste management and gas deliveries.

Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Some working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems and associated instrumentation. (Ability to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams a plus.)
• General word processing ability including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work following standard operating procedures, SOP’s.
• The ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Must be detailed orientated.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work after hours when necessary.
• The ability to perform manual labor, work in enclosed areas, and operate both power and manual tools.
• Strong written and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• The ability to work on a ladder.

Education/Experience:

• High School Grad.
• 0-3 years, experience performing general plant maintenance a plus.
• Experience working in a laboratory or regulated environment a plus

Compensation Statement

The expected base salary for this position is: $42350.00 to $55000.00. We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors including experience, education, licensure/certifications, skill level, location of the position, and availability of similar talent in a competitive market. Subject to eligibility and applicable plan terms, compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, long term incentive, 401(K) plan with employer contribution, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
