Job summary

Cavco Industries Inc. is seeking a dependable Janitorial Associate to maintain cleanliness across production areas, offices, and common spaces within a manufacturing environment in Hamlet, NC.

You will perform routine cleaning, sanitization, waste disposal, and exterior area upkeep while complying with safety policies and PPE requirements. • Previous janitorial, housekeeping, facilities, or manufacturing experience preferred.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain production areas, offices, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and other facility areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash and debris from assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, toilets, fixtures, and other common areas.
• Empty trash containers and properly dispose of waste according to company procedures.
• Assist with maintaining exterior areas, including entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and other assigned areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and properly.

Job description

• Clean and maintain production areas, offices, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and other facility areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash and debris from assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, toilets, fixtures, and other common areas.
• Empty trash containers and properly dispose of waste according to company procedures.
• Clean spills and address housekeeping hazards promptly to help prevent slips, trips, and falls.
• Restock restroom, break room, and janitorial supplies as needed.
• Maintain an organized and adequately stocked janitorial supply area.
• Perform basic facility upkeep and minor maintenance tasks as assigned, such as changing light bulbs, replacing dispensers, or reporting facility issues.
• Assist with maintaining exterior areas, including entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and other assigned areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and properly.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Properly use, label, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, leaks, maintenance concerns, or other facility issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with special cleaning projects, facility inspections, and other housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when working around employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to push and pull cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

This position works primarily in a manufacturing facility and may be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, noise, dust, varying temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and other typical manufacturing conditions. The employee is expected to follow all safety rules and use appropriate PPE at all times.
