Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $15.00/hr

The Facilities Assistant assists in maintaining spaces where girls and volunteers learn and grow. This person will play a crucial role in ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all our members and guests.

This is a seasonal/part-time job June/August (or September) that could potentially transition to a full-time job in the fall.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Position is located at the Kalamazoo Regional Center and our camp in Plainwell, as needed.
  • Main task will include the following, but are not limited to:
    • Maintaining sanitization of assigned property while vacant and before/after rentals
    • Cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, polishing, dusting, power-washing
    • Trash removal
  • Other typical tasks performed could include, but not limited to, a combination of the following:
    • Moving furniture, boxes, and equipment
    • Cleaning and sanitizing various surfaces
    • Maintaining clean bathroom facilities
    • Restocking and organizing cleaning supplies
    • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
    • Picking up litter on grounds
    • Occasional use of ladder
    • Other seasonal tasks as assigned
    • Reviews the needs of assigned facilities and makes certain they are operated and maintained in a cost-effective and safe condition, and reports maintenance needs in a timely manner.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
    • Prior hospitality experience preferred.
    • Must have the ability and initiative to work independently and also as a high-functioning member of a team.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, successfully manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work under pressure, meet deadlines and deal with change.
    • Ability to follow through on projects.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational skills required.
    • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, with up to 8 office hours during the week.
    • Must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

    Work Schedule

    This position works a flexible schedule which could include weekend and evening hours, with some daytime hours needed.

    Work Environment

    Operates in both a professional office environment. This position may be called upon to assist in the set-up and tearing down of a room in preparation for and cleaning up after rental events. May be required to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and use a ladder.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibility.
