Facilities Assistant II (Per-diem) Job Description

The Facilities Assistant II (Per-diem) provides services related to maintenance and repair for several Covenant House properties.

Responsibilities:

1. Handle routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and the physical plant across multiple Covenant House NJ properties.
2. Assist the Facilities team in maintaining all agency buildings, equipment, and inventory.
3. Support the maintenance request process.
4. Assist with snow removal.
5. Control and account for inventory of equipment and supplies across multiple sites.
6. Maintain inventory counts of supplies and equipment.
7. Assist with shipping and receiving of purchased items.
8. Handle agency property, including tools and equipment, safely and properly.
9. Support housekeeping with heavy lifting, equipment cleaning, and maintenance of closets, tools, and equipment.
10. Perform minor vehicle maintenance, including weekly reviews based on established checklists.
11. Transport agency vehicles for repair, service, and cleaning.
12. Assist with setting up, delivering, and disassembling for fundraising events, which may occur outside normal hours.
13. Operate powered and non-powered tools safely.
14. Follow all safety procedures.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

This position is an on-call, as-needed, Per-diem role. We are hiring multiple individuals for available day shifts. Applicants may be required to work during afternoons, nights, or weekends as needed.

Additional requirements include checking emails daily, attending annual Child Protection and Mandatory training, and working occasional weekends.
