Job summary

Cristo Rey San José is seeking a Facilities and Operations Assistant to maintain a safe, clean environment for staff and students. Work is typically 8 hours, Monday–Friday, 6:30am–5:00pm. Reports to the Senior Operations Manager and collaborates with ALT team and vendors on campus operations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, at least two years experience, fluency in Spanish, and basic technology skills. Competitive hourly pay with benefits in a faith-based school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains interior and exterior spaces, ensuring safety and cleanliness across lobbies, classrooms, bathrooms and staff areas.
  • Coordinates maintenance tasks, assists with work orders, and supports safety compliance and recordkeeping.
  • Supports events, campus operations, and vendor coordination to ensure smooth school activities.

Work is typically an eight hour day, Monday–Friday, between the hours of 6:30am–5:00pm.Reports to: Senior Operations ManagerESSENTIAL DUTIES1. Custodial & CleanlinessMaintaining the interior and exterior of the property, typically focused such as lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, classroom, bathrooms, office, conference rooms, parking areas.Assist with trash collection and disposal following student/staff meal periods.Respond to minor spills and cleanups throughout the shift to maintain a safe, clean environment for students and staff.Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, paper products, and trash liners in dining and custodial areas as needed2. Repairs, Maintenance & SafetyComplete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned using a work order system.Serve as a skilled handyman/tradesperson, mentoring junior facilities staff in repair techniques and best practices.Work on and around potentially dangerous equipment/machinery, in potentially dangerous environments, handling hazardous materials, some exposure to high noise levels.Maintain all building, recreational and tenant equipment, as assigned.Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities (e.g. PM Checklists).Adhere to company and Cal-OSHA safety guidelines and attend regular safety meetings.Keep tool/equipment inventory.Available on call for facilities emergency.Providing excellent customer service and responding promptly to maintenance requests or emergencies.3. The full pay range, which encompasses all experience levels, is $25-$32 per hour. Within this range, we pay in accordance with what could be reasonably expected based on an individual’s experience level.Full time employees are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, and retirement. Employees’ premiums are covered for medical, dental and vision at 100% and dependents at 50% if elected.
