CRSJ seeks to educate and foster in our students meaningful college readiness and life skills to support the transition to higher education. Additionally, the Alumni Advisor will help to develop and maintain Cristo Rey partnership agreements with 4-year and 2-year institutions to create bridges for successful student transitions and undergraduate degree completion.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL DUTIESReporting to the Director of Student Success, the specific responsibilities for the Alumni Advisor include:Senior PreparationPlan & facilitate Spring Break College Tours to engage junior class with alumni on campusesSupport the planning/designing of College and Career Readiness (CCR) curriculum for 12th graders; push into those classes to support instruction and work with students, especially during the spring semester. This class introduces financial literacy, time management and executive function techniques, self advocacy skills, race/identity awareness, how to manage family relationships, and specific college resources for academic success and personal wellness.Introduce alumni support program and provide transition orientation for alumni parentsFacilitate “family decision meetings” as neededAlumni SupportWork one-on-one with alumni entering their first year as they transition to college through summer meetings to confirm orientation and registration requirements, and ensuring that health insurance coverage is transferred or waivers are confirmed (which may include some travel to visit them on campus)Engage and document alumni progress through campus visits, email, and social media interactions, including coordination of incentives to encourage participationCoordinate review and distribution of CRSJ scholarships and emergency funding requestsEvaluate and document student’s transition progressReview term grades, and recommend individual resources/strategies for improvement as neededSupport registration, FAFSA submission, and transfer planningDevelop and maintain college partnerships to track alumni through FERPA waiversCoordinate promotion of summer internship/employment opportunities with the Corporate Work Study ProgramAnalyze and scrub NSC data to track alumni and follow-up based on enrollment reportsOutreachCommunicate with alumni through social media, email, phone calls, Skype, text messages, Snapchat, and Instagram.Plan campus visits to check in with alumni in college, and engaging alumni across classesPlan various alumni events: Senior send-off, January Reunion, and career planning workshopsPublicize scholarships, internships, and job opportunities to alumniSend out school updates via alumni webpage, Instagram, Facebook, etc.Send care packages to all first term students prior to final examsPosition RequirementsBachelor’s degree required. Full time employees are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, and retirement. Employees’ premiums are covered for medical, dental and vision at 100% and dependents at 50% if elected.
