FACILITIES & MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – Keep Alaska’s Buildings Working

TurnKey Property Solutions | Anchorage | Juneau | Fairbanks, Alaska

More than a maintenance job. An opportunity to solve problems, own your work, and see the results every day.

At TurnKey Property Solutions, we don’t just maintain buildings; we protect our clients’ investments and keep the places where people work and operate performing the way they should.

Backed by Cornerstone General Contractors, TurnKey provides facility maintenance, building repairs, preventative maintenance, capital improvements, and property management services for commercial owners throughout Alaska.

We’re looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Technician who wants more than a list of work orders; someone who enjoys troubleshooting problems, working with their hands, interacting with customers, and taking ownership of getting the job done right.

WHY FACILITY MAINTENANCE (Why This Role Matters)

Commercial buildings never stop working, and neither do the systems and people responsible for keeping them running.

Facility maintenance puts you at the center of that responsibility. One day you may be troubleshooting a building system, the next completing a repair, inspecting equipment, coordinating a contractor, or helping complete a tenant improvement.

It’s work that requires technical ability, versatility, judgment, and customer service. More importantly, you get to see the impact of what you do every day.

For someone who enjoys variety, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work, facility maintenance offers a career where no two days have to look the same.

What You’ll Do (The Impact You’ll Have)

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving commercial facilities while providing responsive service to the people who rely on them.

Facility Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs across commercial buildings
  • Identify building deficiencies and determine the right corrective action
  • Complete general repairs involving doors, hardware, drywall, flooring, ceilings, windows, finishes, and other building components
  • Handle minor plumbing and electrical repairs, including fixtures, valves, drains, lighting, switches, and outlets
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform basic preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, thermostats, controls, pumps, and exhaust systems
  • Assist with fire and life-safety systems, emergency lighting, generators, access control, and building automation systems while coordinating specialized contractors when needed
Construction & Building Improvements
  • Complete tenant improvements and small remodeling projects
  • Perform carpentry, framing, drywall, patching, painting, finish work, and other general construction tasks
  • Install fixtures, cabinetry, partitions, accessories, and building components
  • Support project punch lists and warranty repairs
  • Bring a construction mindset to improving and extending the life of the facilities you maintain
Customer & Facility Impact
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and changing facility needs
  • Communicate directly and professionally with property owners, tenants, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Keep customers informed about repair status, next steps, and anticipated completion
  • Take ownership of problems from initial diagnosis through completion
  • Represent TurnKey and Cornerstone with professionalism, responsiveness, and quality workmanship
Work Orders & Accountability
  • Manage assigned work orders through the company’s maintenance management or mobile work-order system
  • Document inspections, labor, materials, photographs, repairs, asset history, and completed work
  • Identify unresolved deficiencies and clearly communicate recommended repairs and follow-up requirements
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and serviceable condition
  • Coordinate vendors and subcontractors when repairs require specialized expertise
Safety & Teamwork
  • Perform work safely and in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas
  • Work independently while knowing when to engage teammates, vendors, or specialized contractors
  • Support other technicians and facility needs as workload requires
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent or emergency facility maintenance needs
  • This is a high-impact hands-on role; you’re not just fixing things, you’re keeping commercial facilities safe, functional, and ready for the people who depend on them.
