Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Promontory, Utah, is seeking a Manager, Facilities Maintenance 2 to lead day-to-day craft supervision, coordinate scheduling, and drive safety, quality and productivity at the site.

The successful candidate will interface with engineering and leadership to ensure work aligns with plans, maintain timecards, and support startup meetings while promoting a strong safety culture in a demanding industrial environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience relatable to Mechanical Maintenance.
  • Master's degree and 6+ years of experience relatable to facilities maintenance.
  • In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of experience business experience.
  • 2 years of experience leading a team.
  • Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the craft team supervisors and craftsmen on a day-to-day basis.
  • Interface with customers, engineering and leadership; ensure work is performed per approved plans.
  • Manage timecards, scheduling, and input; support daily safety meetings and monitor critical jobs.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently looking for a Manager, Facilities Maintenance 2 to work in our Promontory, Utah location.

Description & responsibilities

The F&M Manager works under the direction of the Mechanical Maintenance Department Senior Manager and is responsible for the day- to-day supervision of the craft team supervisors, and the craftsmen. They are a key member of the Facility, Maintenance & Tooling leadership team and has administrative responsibilities which include, scheduling, performance reviews, counseling, and interface with the customers, engineering, and leadership. In addition, they are expected to spend time at the job sites supporting the crews, promoting safety, quality, cost and productivity. This manager interfaces with engineering to ensure that the work is being performed per approved planning and that all facilities, tooling, machines and materials are appropriate for use, and in proper condition to accomplish work safely, and with the expected quality. They are responsible to ensure that timecards are current, approved and input in a timely manner, supports daily safety craft team’s startup meetings and monitors critical jobs.

Competencies for Success
  • This position requires the knowledge and experience to understand preventative maintenance, repairs, and new construction of plant equipment.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in mechanical disciplines such as, boiler operations, welding, pipefitting, carpentry, auto mechanics, and pump and hydraulic experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience relatable to Mechanical Maintenance;
  • Master's degree and 6+ years of experience relatable to facilities maintenance;
  • In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of experience business experience;
  • 2 years of experience leading a team;

Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership experience, and demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor other employees.

Primary Level Salary Range

$104,600.00 - $156,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
