Job Summary

As the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for ensuring every store can deliver a safe, clean, fully operational, and welcoming environment that enhances the guest experience. You will enhance and execute preventative maintenance programs, manage facility assets, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and maximize the return on maintenance investments through disciplined financial stewardship. Working collaboratively with Operations, Quality, and Retail Leadership, you maintain environments where team members can perform at their best and guests enjoy an exceptional shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Experience

  • Live our Misson: Deliver store environments that consistently exceed guest expectations and reinforce brand standards.
  • Model the Standard: Maintain all front-of-house, dining room, restrooms, exterior, and open kitchen areas in excellent working order, ensuring they are clean, inviting, and fully functional.
  • Foster a Positive Attitude: Lead with a solution-mindset to minimize disruptions by responding rapidly to facility issues and proactively identifying opportunities to improve the environment. Establish emergency response procedures for failures and incidents.

2. Responsibility to the Team

  • Be a Team Player: Build a transparent, collaborative, and motivating work environment. Foster positive and productive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and landlords.
  • Deliver Results: Manage resources to maximize operational efficiency and long-term value. Develop and manage budgets while balancing cost control with operational excellence. Analyze maintenance data, equipment lifecycle performance, and vendor effectiveness to improve asset utilization and optimize return on investment.

3. Operational Standards & Execution

  • Maintain Excellence: Protect company assets through structured maintenance programs that maximize equipment reliability and facility longevity.
  • Environment Optimization: Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, dining areas, and building infrastructure. Continuously identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance.
  • Safety & Compliance: Manage vendor performance, maintenance records, and repair priorities to reduce emergency repairs, downtime, and total cost of ownership.

4. Agile Problem Solving

  • Navigate High-Volume Environments: Ensure our open-concept kitchens are well always maintained and functional.
  • Adaptability: Welcome change and adapt smoothly to new initiatives, rollouts, or unexpected challenges; and can independently solve problems.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of facilities and maintenance experience related to quick-service or fast-casual restaurant, or food production environment. Strong knowledge of commercial building systems, kitchen equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and general facilities maintenance. Expertise in preventative maintenance planning and asset lifecycle management. Project management experience with remodels, equipment installations, and facility. Experience managing third-party contractors, vendors, and service agreements.
  • Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills with operations teams, store and executive leadership. Ability to prioritize multiple projects across a multi-unit operation. Strong understanding of health, food safety, OSHA, fire, and regulatory compliance requirements. Preference given candidates with certifications in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, squat, and walk for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment with highly repetitive work, and lift up to 50 lbs. Able to successfully work autonomously. Flexibility to travel between store locations and respond to urgent needs as required – including nights and weekends across the country.
