Base pay range

$79,754.00/yr - $115,306.00/yr

Are you a hands-on maintenance leader who takes pride in keeping operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently? Join the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport Commission as our next Facilities and Grounds Manager and make a direct impact on the success of a vital community asset!

In this key leadership role, you will oversee a skilled Facilities and Grounds team responsible for the maintenance, repair, and restoration of airport facilities, airfield lighting systems, mechanical and utility systems, passenger boarding bridges, security access systems, and more. From daily operations to major projects, you'll lead the way - ensuring our terminal, airfield, and other facilities operate at the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency

What You'll Do:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily activities of the Facilities and Grounds staff
• Manage maintenance, repair, and improvement projects across a wide range of building systems
• Monitor safety protocols and enforce compliance to ensure a safe work environment
• Lead by example, promoting high morale, professionalism, and teamwork
• Provide input for budgeting, track project costs, and help keep projects on schedule and within budget
• Coordinate closely with Airport Operations and tenants to minimize disruptions
• Participate in snow removal and emergency response operations as needed

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Minimum 6 years of skilled facilities maintenance experience required
• Four years supervisory experience required
• Strong knowledge of building systems maintenance, repair methods, and safe equipment operation
• Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills

Bonus Points For:

• Journeyman's license in an electrical trade
• Experience in additional trades such as plumbing, carpentry, or masonry
