Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Regional Project Manager to develop and execute the division's energy efficiency program for retail stores and facilities in Nashville. He/She will manage capital projects, coordinate budgets, and collaborate with maintenance and store operations to drive energy savings.

The role requires strong budgeting, engineering know-how, and excellent communication to liaise with corporate energy and facility engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy or related field.
• Strong budgeting and financial skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• 3+ years engineering experience (Level 7) or 7+ years (Level 8) in related roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital and expense projects for building and equipment retrofits.
• Develop capital and expense budgets and allocations for building and equipment retrofits.
• Assist in developing annual budgets for utilities.
• Assist with integrating energy reduction best practices into maintenance technicians' daily activities.
• Provide Facility Engineering Department Manager with budget and project status updates.
• Support cost-control initiatives by reviewing budget variances with store operations.
• Support division teams during utility outages and restoration communications.
• Provide information to secure utility incentives with corporate energy.
• Partner with corporate Facility Engineering to select test stores and support proof of concept for energy efficiencies.
• Travel to division locations to engage contractors, store associates, and evaluate project effectiveness.

Job description

Develop and execute the division's energy efficiency program. Achieve energy usage and reduction goals by implementing best practices and technologies for retail stores and company facilities. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital and expense projects associated with building and equipment retrofits.
• Develop capital and expense budgets and allocations for building and equipment retrofits.
• Assist in developing annual budgets for utilities.
• Assist with integrating energy reduction best practices into maintenance technicians' daily activities.
• Provide Facility Engineering Department Manager with status updates on budget and project reports.
• Support Facility Engineering cost control initiatives by partnering with store operations to review variances in budgets, and to provide training to store managers at district meetings.
• Support division teams in the event of a utility outage and through restoration; communicate to appropriate leadership.
• Provide pertinent information to the corporate energy department to secure utility incentives.
• Partner with corporate Facility Engineering to select test stores and support execution for proof of concept to determine project viability for energy efficiencies.
• Travel to division locations regularly to engage contractors/subcontractors and store associates to evaluate the effectiveness of projects.

Minimum

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy or related field
• Strong financial skills; capable of creating budgets for projects and department
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Level 7- 3+ years proven engineering experience and proficient in all essential job functions
