Job description

Under moderate supervision, operate arc and heliarc equipment to weld cabinets, frames, and small parts.

Responsibilities:

• Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
• Duties/Responsibilities:
• Check welding equipment for proper operation.
• Set up job for welding.
• Obtain and position clamps.
• Prepare welding wire for feeding.
• Level frame for welding, determine proper welding spots, types, and sizes given stress requirements.
• Operate arc and heliarc welding equipment to weld cabinets and other components as required.
• Use wrenches, ratchets, grinders, and hand tools as needed.
• Service and maintain welding equipment.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Work primarily with other welders.
• Ensure consistent quality and production standards.
• Assist sheet metal, fabrication, grinding, and assembly work crews as needed.
• Properly wear and use PPE at all times.
