Under moderate supervision, operate arc and heliarc equipment to weld cabinets, frames, and small parts.
Responsibilities:
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
- Duties/Responsibilities:
- Check welding equipment for proper operation.
- Set up job for welding.
- Obtain and position clamps.
- Prepare welding wire for feeding.
- Level frame for welding, determine proper welding spots, types, and sizes given stress requirements.
- Operate arc and heliarc welding equipment to weld cabinets and other components as required.
- Use wrenches, ratchets, grinders, and hand tools as needed.
- Service and maintain welding equipment.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Work primarily with other welders.
- Ensure consistent quality and production standards.
- Assist sheet metal, fabrication, grinding, and assembly work crews as needed.
- Properly wear and use PPE at all times.
