Job summary

Afinitas is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to join our team in a metal shop environment. You will interpret drawings, set up welding equipment, and perform cutting and finishing operations on steel components.

Responsibilities include measuring with precision tools, inspecting finished work, and maintaining a safe, clean workspace while following quality procedures and production schedules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.
• Beginning level grinding knowledge is required.
• Beginning level experience in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding.
• Team oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and operate mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret basic drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques.
• Set up and operate welding equipment for MIG, TIG, and flux core welding; adjust current, amperage, pressures, and tips.
• Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.
• Measure dimensions using micrometers and calipers; verify tolerances.
• Inspect finished units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Report defects and assist supervisor in resolving issues.
• Complete documentation to meet quality and production requirements.
• Participate in team meetings and follow engineering change processes.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.
