Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, lay out, and weld components to drawings and specifications.
  • Read blueprints, weld symbols, and perform MIG/TIG/stick welding as required.
  • Use measuring tools and SOPs to ensure tolerances and quality.
  • Operate overhead cranes/jib hoists and manage height work safely.
  • Maintain a 5S organized workspace and support process improvements.

Job description

As a Fabricator Welder, you'll play an important role in building and fabricating subassemblies for larger equipment. Working from blueprints and engineering drawings, you'll lay out, fit, and weld components to specification while supporting quality, safety, and Lean manufacturing initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on fabrication work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and is committed to producing high-quality products.

What You'll Do
Fabricate & Weld Components
  • Follow direction provided by the Floor Supervisor or designee.
  • Layout, fabricate, and weld parts and subassemblies according to supplied drawings and specifications.
  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to manufacture parts to required specifications.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding according to drawings and welding requirements.
  • Utilize multipass weld techniques as required.
  • Preheat and post-heat components using torches and temperature sticks according to welding requirements.
Support Quality & Production
  • Use hand measuring tools, power tools, and compressed air tools to ensure tolerances and specifications are met.
  • Read, interpret, and follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in manufacturing.
  • Perform visual inspections on welded assemblies to verify quality standards have been met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S principles and daily organizational practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to suggest improvements to processes and the work environment.
  • Operate overhead cranes and/or jib hoists and perform visual inspections to ensure safe and proper utilization.
  • Perform work at elevated heights according to established procedures.
  • Be willing to work assigned shifts and overtime as required by management.

What You'll Bring
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • One (1) year of technical training in an industrial setting.
  • One (1) year of blueprint reading experience.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Stable work history with demonstrated positive behavior.
  • Computer literacy, primarily for attendance and job tracking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

This position is based in a manufacturing environment and requires standing for extended periods. The role requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and work in an environment that may include chemicals and strong odors associated with manufacturing processes. Employees must have good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to operate standard equipment. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
