Job summary

L.E. Smith, a subsidiary of Cutting Edge Countertops, is seeking a full-time Fabricator for the 1st shift (5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon-Thu). You will work with team members to fabricate countertops using hand tools, routers, sanders, and CNC basics.

Responsibilities include cutting, assembling, applying finishes, installing sinks, and finishing edges. Physical demands include lifting up to 70 lbs and standing for long periods; experience in fabrication is preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding of shop drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for long hours.
• Mechanical skills and familiarity with basic machinery.
• 1–3 years fabrication experience or related trades.
• Good dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate sanders, miter saws, table saws, and routers.
• Cut and assemble countertops to specified sizes.
• Apply build-up, band countertops, and fabricate edge tops.
• Install sinks into countertops and glue/lay laminate.
• Cut and finish backsplashes; apply adhesive and silicone.
• Maintain and clean work areas; perform basic CNC tasks.

Countertop Fabricator (3rd Shift) Full Time L.E. Smith, a subsidiary of Cutting Edge Countertops, has been a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality countertops and surfaces since 1950. A lot has changed over the decades, but our commitment to our clients has never wavered. L.E. Smith is looking for a 1ST Shift Fabricator 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday. A Fabricator plays a vital role in the success of our business; you will work with a team to fabricate countertops using various hand tools, such as routers, sanders, pneumatic staple guns, and hand files.

Responsibilities

• Operating sanders, miter saws, table saw, and routers
• Cutting and assembling countertops to specified sizes
• Cutting and applying build-up
• Banding countertops
• Fabrication of applied edge tops
• Installation of sinks into countertops
• Gluing and laying laminate
• Cutting and finishing backsplashes.
• Applying adhesive and silicone for solid surface tops
• Filing/sanding and cleaning tops for final quality check
• Basic CNC Machine operation
• Cleaning and maintaining work areas

Requirements of the Role

• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
• The ability to stand/walk for a minimum of 9 hours.
• Must have good vision, color vision, hearing, speaking, and finger dexterity skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel, reach, and push.
• Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read prints, a tape measure, and operate hand tools.
