Job summary

Stryker Group in Portage, MI is seeking a robotic welder to operate welding cells safely and efficiently. You will load, position, and secure parts, verify identification and orientation, and monitor processes to ensure quality welds.

The role requires at least 1 year of fabrication and material handling experience, with a typical shift 5:45am to 2:15pm and overtime as needed by the business. Some benefits apply with eligible bonus.

Responsibilities

• Operate robotic welding equipment safely and efficiently following procedures.
• Load, unload, position, and secure parts in robotic welding cells.
• Verify correct part identification, orientation, and component usage before welding.
• Monitor welding processes, detect abnormal conditions, and adjust equipment as allowed.
• Inspect welds and assemblies for quality and dimensions.
• Identify and help resolve weld defects, material issues, and equipment concerns.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records and support continuous improvement.
• Follow safety, PPE and keep a clean, hazard-free work area.

What you will do:

• Operate robotic welding equipment safely and efficiently while following established production procedures and work instructions.
• Load, unload, position, and secure parts in robotic welding cells to ensure accurate and consistent weld quality.
• Verify correct part identification, orientation, and component usage before initiating welding operations.
• Monitor welding processes, recognize abnormal conditions, and perform basic equipment adjustments within established guidelines.
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies to ensure they meet quality, dimensional, and production requirements.
• Identify, communicate, and help resolve weld defects, material issues, damaged parts, and equipment concerns.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Follow all safety, quality, and PPE requirements while maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
