Job summary

Core & Main Fabrication position seeks skilled Fabricator to create customized products from drawings and orders. You will examine specifications, prepare materials, and set up equipment to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include fabricating parts, inspecting quality, packaging for shipment, and maintaining a safe, organized work area in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. HS diploma or GED preferred; lifting up to 50 lbs required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fabricate work pieces per work orders and blueprints.
• Select and prepare materials and set up machines.
• Inspect finished pieces visually or with tools to meet standards.
• Package for shipping and secure items for transport.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety policies.

Manufacture customized products that meet customer specifications and prepare completed orders for shipment. Analyzes capacity and production data to determine manufacturing processes and required resources. Ensures quality control standards are maintained.Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key AccountabilitiesExamines specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.Fabricates work piece as determined by work order specifications. Retrieves correct materials and performs various fabrication duties.Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards.Packages for shipping. Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.Maintains condition of work area (i.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).Follows company safety policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Preferred QualificationsExperience with fabrication shop equipment.Metal working experience preferred.Time management and organization skills.Career Level DimensionsTypical Training/ExperienceHS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.Problem ComplexitySelects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction.Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor.Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.AutonomyAble to work independently with limited supervision.Environmental Job RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50lbs in a physical environment.This information indicates the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this role.
