Goodwill Industries of Kansas seeks a Fabricator II to fabricate insulation and support contract work in our contracts area. You will learn and follow work instructions, assemble, package, and label materials, and maintain tidy work areas while meeting production standards.

Ideal candidates are reliable, able to read a ruler, perform simple math, and work with hand tools. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration with team members and supervisors.

• Inform supervisor when materials are running low.

Primary: Production Manager/Supervisor Secondary: Team Leader/Contracts and Director, Business Services

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

No minimum requirements set. Prefer GED or high school diploma.

JOB COMPETENCIES:

Ability to perform tasks to satisfy customer requirements. Maintains personal/ individual production records. Successfully assemble, package, and label miscellaneous contracts. Ability to seal or cut simple insulation blankets. Meets minimum production/quality standard in department. Reads and understands work sheets. Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, box knife, steam iron, solder tool and scissors. Understands ISO requirements. Able to do simple math. Must be able to read a ruler or tape measure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inform supervisor when materials are running low.
• Secure equipment and/or materials as instructed.
• Report to the supervisor immediately upon completion of assigned work.
• Complete each step, in order, as instructed, not taking short cuts or altering procedures without specific approval from supervisor.
• Keep area and tools neat, organized, and clean.
• Adhere to all safety policies and report violations.
• Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records.
• Support mission statement and activities needed by other departments.
• Support the accessibility of services and facilities relating to architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment, and other barriers to persons with disabilities and barriers to employment.
• Take trash to the compactor.
• Clean work areas during last 10 minutes of work day.
• Complete daily production forms.
• Comply with ISO procedures and seek continued improvement.
• Locate templates and material and return them to their proper location.
• Support and value team.
• Other duties as assigned.
