Job summary

Cleaveland/Price is seeking a General Fabricator in a machine shop environment. You will interpret blueprints and work orders, select materials and tools, and cut, shape, and assemble metal parts with precision on standard 1st or 2nd shift tasks. Training is provided and safety rules are emphasized.

Entry‑level candidates who are mechanically inclined and detail‑oriented are encouraged to apply. Onsite work, with PPE and formal safety practices throughout the shift, is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure.
  • Select appropriate material, technique, and tool(s) for each job based on job specifications and requirements.
  • Cut, bend, and shape metal to required dimensions.
  • Measure, cut, and sometimes weld pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions, depending on certifications.
  • Connect pieces or secure seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
  • Perform assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
  • Use appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
  • Coordinate with other process owners to ensure seamless transition of the production process.
  • Use discretion and sound judgement skills to make independent, task‑specific decisions.
  • Ensure work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards.
  • Ensure proper utilization of required PPE and task‑specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company and job‑specific safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as operating a machine or other related tasks.

Your Goal

The General Fabricator, working on the 1st or 2nd shift at Cleaveland/Price, is responsible for machining specified pieces using a variety of materials, techniques, tools and machines. This is a generalized role that encompasses several different departments within the Fabrication department. The role involves interpreting blueprints, work orders, and schematics to ensure accurate and precise fabrication. Team members in a Fabrication position may be asked to use any equipment or run any machinery in the facility, after proper training.

Physical Requirements

The environment that this role will be working in a machine shop that exposes team members to noise, dust and fumes at times. Candidates must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time up to 8 hours, but will traverse the entire building to obtain parts or directions. Fine dexterity is a must as this role will be constantly operating different types of machinery including computer keyboards. This role may occasionally ascend or descend a ladder along with retrieving things from shelves that are floor level or above their heads. Lifting parts or tools up to 35 pounds without assistance is necessary. All teammates are required to wear PPE for the entire shift of 8hours.
