Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Fabricator in Oshkosh, WI to perform a variety of sheet metal and machining tasks on site. The role requires reading blueprints, performing precision measurements, and operating saws, presses, routers, and related equipment.

You will ensure part quality, maintain tools, and support material handling with cranes and forklifts. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED or related experience, solid math and measurement skills, and the ability to work with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to groups.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Intermediate PC skills including email, database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Plan and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance of equipment including changing punch and die and cleaning debris.
• Operate hand, bench, and light machine tools for tapping, deburring, filing, grinding, and polishing.
• Read micrometers and transfer measurements from blueprints to workpieces.
• Use measuring devices to ensure accuracy of dimensions and materials.
• Coordinate with overhead cranes and fork trucks for material handling and inventory checks.
• Ensure accurate alignment and measurements and inspect finished parts.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

The Fabricator position at AHC is knowledgeable in a variety of tasks associated with fabrication, including but not limited to: Saws, Drill Press, Apex, Tap arms, Routers, manual and hydraulic bearing presses.

Major Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance of equipment. Includes the ability to change punch and die, monitor equipment for proper function including calibration, and removal of debris.
• Competent use of hand, bench, and light machine operations to perform tapping, deburring, filing, grinding and polishing on sawed and machined parts.
• Understanding of and ability to utilize micrometers.
• Use of scribe, tape measure, square, protractor, punch, and measuring devices to accurately transfer information from blueprints to the work piece.
• Utilization of overhead cranes and fork trucks to receive raw bar stock steel. Performance of material Inspection, verification of packing lists and storage of steel inventory.
• Accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, correct corresponding machine order, and general inspection requirements.
• Setup and operation of shears, punches, presses, and other sheet metal processing equipment to perform cutting, bending, punching, burning, and slotting processes that conform to quality standards.
• Post material out of stock and perform other paperwork processing requirements.
• Properly adjust gauges and stops on equipment and figure bend allowances.
• Competent use of scales, squares, protractor, and gauges to finish sheet metal and stainless-steel components.
• Performance of cycle counts as prescribed by Production and Inventory Control.
• Interpretation of work orders, blueprints, and bills of material.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education / Experience / Skills

• General supervision: routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. Standard practices or procedures allow me to proceed alone at routine work. Occasional check of work while in progress. Work is reviewed upon completion.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). or one to three months related experience and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Plan and prioritize tasks.
