Job summary

Wildeck, based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is seeking a Fabricator to set up and operate production machines to manufacture stock and custom parts. The role involves working with fiber laser, brake press, saw, tube bender, iron worker, shear or roll former to cut, shape or bend metal pieces.

You will read shop drawings, set up machines, observe operation for quality, measure parts, stack and package finished pieces, and perform minor maintenance.

Qualifications

• Read and understand shop drawings or prints.
• Add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in all units of measure; perform basic calculations.
• Read and use tape measure.
• Basic computer skills in Windows/ERP environment.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications from shop drawings or blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, jig or template.
• Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Stack, marks, and pack finished work pieces.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dyes, or work pieces.
• Lift objects by hand, or with a power hoist/crane, or forklift.
