Job summary

Trident Seafoods seeks an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our Alaska operations. The role involves welding, fabricating, and repairing metal components across plant and shipboard environments. You will use Flux Core, TIG, and Stick welding techniques, following safety and environmental policies.

We value certified welders with food-grade welding knowledge and the ability to perform precise cutting and assembly tasks in a demanding seafood processing setting.

Qualifications

• 4 years of welding related experience performing Flux Core, TIG, and Stick Welding.

Responsibilities

• Welds and assembles metal components together with welding or brazing.
• Uses a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products.
• Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
• Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Measures and cuts materials to specifications.
• Performs other similar or related duties.
• Adheres to Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs.

Responsibilities

The Fabricator (Welder) works with a variety of welding equipment to fabricate or repair products in the performance of the duties of a Welder as follows.

• Welds and assembles metal components together with welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.
• Uses a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant, and shipboard equipment.
• Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
• Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Measures and cuts materials to specifications.
• Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Additional Responsibilities

• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Required Qualifications

• 4 years of welding related experience doing Flux Core, TIG, and Stick Welding.

Preferred Education And Experience

• 6 years of welding related experience doing Flux Core, TIG, and Stick Welding.
• 2 years welding in food manufacturing environment

Additional Eligibility Requirements (language Skills, Training, Certifications, DL, Licensing)

• Knowledge of 3G/4G/6G welding passes.
• Knowledge of food grade welding procedures and compliance measures
• Certified High-Pressure pipe welder
• Successful Completion of Trident Welding Test

Work Environment (includes Travel/on-call)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
