Job summary

DNOW is seeking a Fabricator to weld and fabricate pump packages. Responsibilities include performing GMAW, FCAW, or SMAW welding, and assembling components to print specifications in a safe, clean environment.

The role requires reading dimensional drawings, prior welding experience, and the ability to work in various positions with aluminum and steel. Tools provided by the candidate and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or an education/experience mix.
• Must provide own tools.
• Experience in welding/fabricating: Pump Packages, GMAW/FCAW.
• Able to read and fabricate to dimensional prints.
• Able to qualify to AWS D1.1.
• Pipe Welding (ASME IX) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and safety, good communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using GMAW, FCAW, or SMAW.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Weld with aluminum, steel, and other alloys.
• Select and install torches, tips, filler rods, and flux per specs.
• Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs.
• Perform quality checks to ensure standards.
• Rework/repair welded structures as needed per specs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Fabricator is responsible for welding/fabricating pump packages.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform duties using wire welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), or SMAW (Stick Welding)
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, steel, and other alloys.
• Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
• Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
• Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.
• Rework and/or repair welded structures according to engineering specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma and/or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience
• Must provide own tools
• Prior experience in welding and/or fabricating: Pump Packages, FMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) / FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
• Must be able to read and fabricate to dimensional prints
• Must be able to qualify to AWSD1.1
• Pipe Welding (ASME Section IX) is a plus
• Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate welding job tasks
• Good interpersonal skills, proficient in oral and written communications.
