Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.**As a Fabricator** at our Pittsburg, K.S facility, you will interpret blueprints, perform layout work, and set up welding equipment to complete high-quality welds across a variety of materials and configurations.**Day Shift: Monday - Thursday 6 am - 430 pm****Night Shift: Monday - Thursday 8 pm - 630 am****Weekend (Full Time): Friday - Sunday 6 am - 6 pm**## **WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:*** Interpret blueprints and collaborate with the lead person to confirm job requirements.* Gather necessary materials and perform layout work according to specifications.* Set up welding machines and adjust settings for various applications.* Weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials in multiple positions and joint configurations.* Inspect welds for quality, repairing defective joints as needed.* Operate cutting torches and manual plasma cutters when required.* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area by performing regular housekeeping duties.**YOU HAVE:*** High School Diploma or GED.* Experience in utilizing cutting torches, brushes, pads, buffers, grinders, overhead cranes, and rubber hammers.* One year of welding experience.* Prior knowledge of setting up welding machines and adjusting settings.* Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.* Ability to properly operate welding equipment.* Team members must be able to safely perform a range of physical activities, including standing and walking for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for tasks requiring dexterity and grip.* Roles may require frequent bending, kneeling, and maintaining balance, with occasional climbing or repositioning to support production needs.* This position is classified as medium work, requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.* Employees must be able to effectively communicate, hear, and visually assess work to ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in a manufacturing environment.* Work is performed in a manufacturing setting that may not be climate-controlled and can include exposure to varying temperatures. nVent is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.**WE HAVE:*** A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day + nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
