Job summary

Rollon by Timken designs and manufactures high-performance linear components and complete motion systems for industrial automation worldwide. The welder will fabricate custom machinery for the automation industry, reading prints, staging, and welding parts ranging from sheet metal to structural beams.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of welder apprenticeship; ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds; must be legally authorized to work in the

• 2 years of a welder apprenticeship preferred.
• Must stand, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and use hands for gripping.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship - no sponsorship available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Read prints, stage, setup, and fabricate weldments.
• Fabricate to print with minimal fixture work.
• Follow established quality control processes and document work.
• Weld a wide range of parts from 1/4" sheet metal to 3" plate and structural tubes/beams.
• Assist in maintaining equipment (Lincoln and Miller welders; Hydmech saw).

PURPOSE

The welder will use specialized equipment to fabricate custom machinery for the automation industry.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read prints, stage, setup, and fabricate weldments
• Majority of work is fabrication to print- almost no fixture work
• Follow and complete established quality control processes and procedures
• Document work (sign off on completed parts/prints)
• Weld a wide range of parts: 1/4" sheet metal up to 3" plate as well as structural steel tubes and beams - occasionally stainless steel
• Assist in maintaining equipment (Lincoln and Miller welders; Hydmech saw)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
