At Lantech in Louisville, KY, a leading packaging equipment manufacturer, we seek a skilled Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. You’ll MIG weld mild steel, read blueprints, and fabricate parts and assemblies to print, while maintaining tolerances and quality.
You’ll set up welding machines, inspect finished work, and contribute to on-time production with safety and teamwork at the core. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

As a Fabricator, you will use MIG welding, fabrication, and blueprint-reading skills to produce quality parts and assemblies. You’ll work with both standard and non-standard fabrications, using fixtures, measuring tools, and other equipment to ensure parts meet specifications.
MIG weld mild steel to produce standard parts using fixtures.
Fabricate non-standard parts and assemblies without the aid of fixtures.
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications.
Perform layout and use appropriate measuring tools to ensure parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.
Set up and adjust welding machines and peripheral equipment.
Maintain proper angles, tolerances, and squareness of fabricated parts.
Saw, drill, and tap raw materials as needed.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and specification requirements.
Safely maneuver welding equipment, materials, and finished parts.
Follow standardized work and established safety and quality procedures.
Support production deadlines and work overtime as needed.
Take on new challenges and responsibilities to continue developing welding and fabrication skills.
3+ years of welding experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
Experience fabricating parts and assemblies to print.
Ability to set up and adjust welding machines and peripheral equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to maintain angles, tolerances, and squareness of fabricated parts.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
Proven record of good attendance.
Ability to successfully complete the Fabricator assessment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely maneuver equipment and materials.
Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
