Role Description

The Fabricator role is a full-time, on‑site position based in Lancaster, PA. In this role, the Fabricator will interpret design drawings and 3D models to cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood and metal components for custom built‑ins and case goods. Daily responsibilities include operating shop tools and machinery, performing accurate measurements and layouts, and ensuring parts meet design specifications and quality standards. The Fabricator will collaborate with designers and other shop team members to solve build challenges, maintain a safe and organized workspace, and prepare pieces for installation. The role may also involve assisting with on‑site installations, troubleshooting fit and finish issues, and contributing ideas to improve fabrication methods and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with woodworking and metalworking, including cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing materials for custom fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and project specifications, with strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using common shop tools and equipment (e.g., saws, sanders, routers, welders, hand tools) and commitment to safe operating practices.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, including the ability to diagnose build issues, adjust fabrication approaches, and maintain high quality standards under deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a small team and coordinate with designers and installers.
• Physical ability to perform shop and installation tasks, including lifting materials, standing for extended periods, and working with manual and power tools.
• Prior experience in custom furniture, cabinetry, exhibit building, or architectural millwork is highly beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or trade school education in fabrication or related fields is a plus.
