Job summary

MAAG Pump Systems is seeking a Fabricator to set up and operate metal and plastic fabrication equipment on the factory floor. You will read blueprints, cut, bend, punch, and inspect materials to ensure precise results. Work includes forklift operation, material handling, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

A high school diploma or equivalent and blueprint-reading training are mandatory. You’ll join a skilled team in a fast-paced environment with competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend or straighten metal or plastic materials.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of problems or defects.
• Read blueprints and use measuring tools for accuracy.
• Operate forklift and handle materials safely.
• Follow safety rules and quality standards; maintain a clean work area.
• Ability to multitask and coordinate with team.

Main position objectives

The Fabricator position will set up, operate, saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.

Position description – Tasks, responsibilities, competencies

• Controls machines and processes using direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
• Handles and moves objects using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
• Inspecta equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of problems or defect.
• Performa physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Lifta raw materials manually or using hoist.
• Measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
• Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel & Stainless Steel.
• Uses computers and computer systems to program and setup functions, enter data, or process information.
• Reads blueprints.
• Operates forklift
• Tests, measures and adjusts machines when needed.
• Provides a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Ability to multitask
• Keep work area clean and organized

Work Environment

Work in this position is both in an office and a factory floor environment, either locally or at a customer site. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.
