Job summary

Voyage Metal Works in Christiansted is seeking a hands-on Metal Fabricator to turn designs into finished steel structures on-site. You’ll translate blueprints to precise cuts, welds, and assemblies, and ensure each piece meets durability standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on metal fabrication experience required.

Responsibilities

• Bring designs to life by translating blueprints into metal structures.
• Shape, cut, weld, assemble, and finish metal components with standard shop tools.
• Master surface finish with grinding, prep and polishing to meet high craftsmanship standards.
• Safely move materials around the Christiansted shop using forklifts and equipment.
• Collaborate with the team to hit project milestones and improve shop processes.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workspace to ensure daily readiness.

The Role: Metal Fabricator (On-Site | Christiansted)

Get ready to get hands‑on! As our newest Metal Fabricator, you’ll take raw designs and turn them into incredible finished products. You will be responsible for bringing blueprints to life, bringing precision to every cut, weld, and grind, and ensuring every piece that leaves our shop is built to last.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Bring Designs to Life: Translate blueprints, tech drawings, and specs into rock‑solid metal structures.
• Shape & Build: Measure, cut, weld, assemble, and finish metal components using top‑tier hand and power tools.
• Master the Finish: Grind, prep, and polish surfaces until they meet our high standards for craftsmanship.
• Keep Things Moving: Safely operate forklifts and equipment to move materials around our active Christiansted shop.
• Collaborate & Innovate: Work side‑by‑side with a supportive crew to hit project milestones and brainstorm new ways to level up our shop processes.
• Safety & Craft: Keep your workspace safe, organized, and clean so everyone brings their A‑game every day.

What You Bring to the Crew:

• Proven hands‑on experience in metal fabrication, welding assistance, or custom shop trade work.
• Solid skills with standard shop power tools (saws, drills, grinders) and precision hand techniques.
• The ability to decipher technical drawings and turn measurements into exact cuts.
• Forklift certification or practical experience with safe workshop material handling.
• A strong work ethic, sharp eye for detail, and a safety‑first mindset.
