Job summary

Metal-Tech Partners is seeking a motivated candidate for a hands-on metal fabrication role in Geneva, NE. The position involves operating fabricating machines to bend, cut, form and assemble metal components, while ensuring pieces comply with drawings and measurements.

You will use calipers, protractors, and measuring tapes to verify accuracy and move parts with hoists or cranes. The job emphasizes safety, precision and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating fabricating machines and reading blueprints.
• Ability to verify conformance to drawings and measurements.
• Familiarity with using inspection tools to ensure quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fabricating machines (lasers, punches, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drills).
• Verify work piece conformity using calipers, protractors, and measuring tapes.
• Move parts into position with hoists or cranes and follow engineering drawings.
• Lay out and inspect metal stock to meet specifications.
• Remove high spots and bevels with grinders and torches.

Job Duties :

• Setup and operate fabricating machines,such as lasers, punches, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, calipers, protractors, and measuring tapes.
• Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
• Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
• Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the constructionmetal components.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
