Job summary

McCarty Equipment, a SunSource company, seeks a dependable shop assistant to support gasket, hose, mechanical seal, and conveyor belting operations. You will measure, cut, fabricate gaskets, and assist in the hose and mechanical seal areas while performing general shop duties under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, the ability to use a tape measure and basic math, and up to 50 lbs lifting. Training provided; E-Verify participant.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• 1 year Industrial Shop Experience Preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must be able to use a tape measure and understand basic math.

Responsibilities

• Count inventory for cycle counts and maintain stock.
• Support lean activities and safety regulations.
• Suggest improvements for lean, quality and safety.
• Operate gasket press, circle cutter and cutters to fabricate gaskets.
• Assist hose area with hose banding, crimping, rolling and cutting hoses.
• Assist in mechanical seal disassembly, cleaning and packing.
• Assist shipping with packing and crates.
• Operate forklift upon certification.
• Use tape measure regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
