Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in any area of the shop, including gasket, hose, mechanical seal, cylinder repair and conveyor belting departments.
• Use various tools to measure, manipulate and cut gaskets and fabricate hoses and related products.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts, tagging, stacking, sorting and keeping stock organized.
• Clean equipment and all shop areas.
• Participate in lean activity and safety regulations.
• Make suggestions for improvement and work on continuous‑improvement projects for lean, quality and safety.
• Operate soft‑gasket press, circle cutter, Allpax cutter, shears, and punch‑press machine with dies.
• Assist hose area with banding, crimping, rolling, cutting or testing hoses; assist in the hydraulic hose area.
• Assist mechanical seal department: disassembly, cleaning, bead blasting, receiving, packing and shipping of mechanical seals and components.
• Assist shipping: packing, receiving items and building crates.
• Operate forklift upon certification.
• Use tape measure regularly.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• One year industrial shop experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must be able to use a tape measure and understand basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide).

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
