Job summary

Dalton Ag, a premier fertilizer application equipment manufacturer, seeks a Fabrication Technician to operate fabrication machines and follow blueprints to produce parts. You will perform setup, calibration, and documentation to support production goals.

You will conduct quality checks, maintain organization, and use measuring tools and basic math in daily tasks. There is potential for cross-training across manufacturing areas and contributing to Lean improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment.
  • Fabricate products to specification from job orders and document production data to minimize delays.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure systems meet product standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Use measuring instruments and read blueprints; operate hand tools.
  • Cross-train as back-up in other manufacturing areas.

Our Fabrication Technicians operate various fabrication machines and fabricate parts while adhering to a specific set of blueprints or schematics. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on fabrication equipment
  • Fabricate products to specification, from job order and document production data at a level of output that minimizes productions delays
  • Perform quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, protractor, tape measure, steel ruler), blueprints and operate hand tools
  • Ability to read, write and use basic math skills includes factions and decimals
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions
  • Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing plant
  • Data entry for clocking in inventory of finished jobs
  • Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position
  • Develops working knowledge of the production environment and has ability to respond to change
  • Work to Continuously Improve the operations of the Department through Lean activities and Improvement suggestions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 or more years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills. Experience using an ERP system, Epicor preferred
  • Ability to read, write and use basic math skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments
