Job summary

Panthalassa in Portland, Oregon seeks a Supplier Industrialization Engineer for fabrication. You will bridge early product designs with external manufacturers, focusing on steel fabrication, welding, and machining.

Lead supplier sourcing, industrialization, and quality control with third-party vendors to scale from low to high-volume production. Strong collaboration with design and sourcing teams, travel up to 35-40%, and a culture of scrappy problem-solving.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Technical Sourcing, Supply Chain or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Deep blueprint & GD&T literacy for complex drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with machining, welding, and large forgings/castings.
• Ability to audit vendor shop floors against part requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Analyze designs to identify appropriate manufacturing sources.
• Support DFM feedback during early product development.
• Conduct onsite supplier audits and develop new suppliers.
• Communicate changes and release packages to suppliers.
• Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and ensure SOW alignment.
• Guide suppliers to improve quality, cost, and lead times.
