Job purpose

The purpose of the Fabrication Supervisor position is to oversee daily fabrication operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards. This role is responsible for coordinating workflow, supervising team members, maintaining productivity, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring department goals align with company objectives for profitability, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Oversee daily fabrication operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and deadlines are met.
  • Ability to operate Laser, Brake Press, and Weld.
  • Assign work, organize workflow, and ensure employees understand job duties, priorities, and expectations.
  • Assure labor is moved to support assigned work.
  • Monitor employee performance, productivity, attendance, and quality; provide coaching and corrective feedback as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain department quality standards and ensure fabricated products meet required customer specifications.
  • Support and enforce 6S standards, housekeeping expectations, and organized work areas within the department.
  • Train, mentor, and develop employees and team leads to improve skill levels, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Communicate production updates, staffing needs, performance concerns, and department issues to management.
  • Resolve employee issues, work‑flow problems, and production obstacles in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records related to timekeeping, attendance, production, quality, and personnel matters.
  • Maintain accurate records for all machine maintenance performed by Operators, TPM and OPM.
  • Prepare and submit reports on performance, production progress, safety concerns, and department needs.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and promotion recommendations as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support business needs, scheduling requirements, material flow, and customer priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, improved efficiency, and cost control.
  • Support company goals for safety, quality, productivity, profitability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as supervisor or relevant role
  • Experience in manufacturing/fabrication facility
  • Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field
  • Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Diploma/Certificate in First Line Management or relevant field
  • High school diploma; BSc/BA in management or relevant discipline will be considered an advantage
Working conditions

This position operates primarily in a fabrication shop/manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to loud noise, welding and cutting operations, moving machinery, forklifts, airborne particles, fumes, heat, cold, and other shop‑related conditions. Work may be performed around steel, tools, equipment, and materials that require awareness of surroundings and adherence to all safety procedures. Personal protective equipment may be required, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel‑toe footwear, welding protection, and other PPE as needed.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift/ or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Pay Range: $27.00 - $30.00 hourly
  • Onsite Position - Springfield, Ohio
  • Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
